Introduction

Veg Box People works to deliver a more sustainable and fair food system for Greater Manchester. With over 20 collection points, from community centres to mobile stalls, we are currently packing around 200 veg bags per week.

We are looking for someone with passion who shares our vision to create a better food system. We need someone who enjoys networking and building relationships with customers, growers, buyers, local businesses and community hubs. The role requires someone who has excellent organisation, IT and administrative skills, who is confident using spreadsheets and databases as well as writing blogs, newsletters and producing marketing materials.

One of the main roles will be the weekly ordering of produce for our fruit and veg bags. Full training will be given but experience of using spreadsheets is essential.

A typical week will include ordering the produce from local growers/wholesalers on a Tuesday, joining the veg packing team at our packing unit on a Wednesday and business development and marketing on a Thursday. The administrative duties are varied- we are looking for someone with experience of customer service, who is confident dealing with customer enquiries by email as well as writing our weekly newsletters, blogs and recipes.
